WotN: Console

Her hair was soft and cool, sliding gently across the back of his hands. Almost in contrast, her face was smooth and warm, seeming to heat up as his fingers came in contact.

Blue eyes widened, blinking up at him in surprise and mild confusion. She didn't pull away, however.

His fingers ached to trace the whisker-like lines running along her flushed cheeks, but he was prevented from doing so by the bandage covering her left cheek. He ghosted over it gently, a light frown touching his face.

While he knew she was more than capable of handling herself, it bothered him to see her hurt. Especially when he was certain her injuries could have easily been avoided.

'The things she goes through for him...' Something bitter curled within him; recognizing as jealously, he quickly forced it down lest it show on his face.

Those blue eyes were still focused on him, after all...

He focused his attention back on her face, his eyes questioning. "Does it still hurt...?"

Something flashed across her face briefly, and she closed her eyes. After a moment, she reopened them to focus on him once more. "No," she murmured softly, her cheeks flushing brighter as his thumb *accidently* brushed against her bottom lip. "Not anymore..."

Aarrghhh... I was working on request pics for and (I really was this time! I swears it!) when the Muse slapped me in the head with this brick.

I guess it felt Neji deserved some of his cool points back...

Never fear! I'll be sure to serve up a helping of PHAIL for him in the near future!
